Antique Glass Ornaments are probably one of the most popular collectible items for the holidays. Everyone seems to be unique and they provide exceptional life to any antique Christmas decoration. But beware, they might also be the most delicate of all antique ornaments.
When buying antique glass ornaments online make sure the seller is familiar with shipping delicate items. It can be incredibly frustrating to finally find the perfect antique glass ornament, but when you open the UPS box you find glass pieces. This tip falls back on making sure you only buy antique items from reputable sources, like trusted sellers on eBay.
If you are an avid collector of antique glass ornaments you may also be interested in learning the history of the items you are purchasing. Some sellers will go so far as to collect the story behind the ornaments, which adds to their collective nature, and adds value to the buyer. Just knowing the year they were made and where they were made can make all the difference in a purchase. Good luck finding the perfect glass ornaments for this Christmas!
When I was a kid, about 40 years ago, we had a number of ornaments, most of which came from Paragon Glass. But we had one special ormanent that just said “Christmas” to me and my three sibblings. Well, I was the last to leave the nest so I inherted “the ball”. Unfortunately it was destroyed enroute to me in Korea. Can anybody help me find one like it? It was yellow, fairly opaque, and it had red children skating around the midrift. I think it also had “Merry Christmas” in red. The ball was approximately 2 1/2″ diameter.
Thanks and have a great Christmas!
